Yes! When we get the hang of mapping, we use the slider test automatically, pretty much at each step of the process, starting with our best guess and then running the slider back and forth until it "clicks" into place.

It's also a great way to test which properties are the drivers of the state. Sometimes, adjusting temperature will result in strong shifts as you experienced with your anxiety states. But other times, the strongest driver will be anything from substance density or hardness to direction of flow or magnitude of illumination.
